HX Expeditions

HX Expeditions is a cruise line with over 130 years of waterborne heritage under the Hurtigruten name. The expedition fleet comprises six ships, ranging from the intimate 90-guest Galápagos vessel Santa Cruz II to the state-of-the-art, custom-built ship MS Fridtjof Nansen. Each is superbly built to navigate around a particular region, from the ice-capped North and South Poles to the tropical waters of the Galápagos Islands, the Americas and beyond. The onboard learning experience is second-to-none as HX Expeditions seeks to inspire and educate guests through an immersive Science Centre, which hosts several citizen science programmes designed to deepen understanding and knowledge of the areas where each voyage takes place.

In their own words, HX Expeditions don’t just take you to the edge of Antarctica, they kayak right up to it. They don’t just sail past the Galápagos, they snorkel respectfully with the amazing marine life. This cruise line cast a new perspective on places, cultures, and wildlife. They do so in typical Scandinavian style and with the comfort you would expect from a luxury expedition cruise line.

We've experienced HX Expeditions first hand...

Our Cruise Connoisseur Jason Treadwell visited the Galápagos Islands with HX Expeditions and the only thing he didn’t like was that he had to leave! The wildlife was a particular highlight and it’s true that you simply cannot comprehend how vibrant and diverse the flora and fauna are until you get there. With scarlet frigatebirds, splashing penguins and the famous blue-footed booby, it’s probably the best spot on earth for birdwatching—and that’s all before you’ve put your snorkel on and explored the underwater paradise beneath the waves. Keep your eyes peeled for turtles and hammerhead sharks!
