Seabourn Expeditions is the ultra-luxury expedition cruise offering from Seabourn, built around two Polar Class 6 ships (such as Seabourn Venture and Seabourn Pursuit) that serve as floating base camps in remote and wild regions.
The idea is to combine lavish onboard comfort — all-suite accommodations, fine dining, spa and lounges — with true expedition adventure. The ever-present expert Expedition Team (scientists, naturalists, historians etc.) helps guests explore nature, wildlife, culture and geography in rugged destinations, often using smaller craft like Zodiacs and kayaks.
Why sail with Seabourn Expeditions? There are several compelling reasons. Firstly, the comfort level: guests enjoy luxury ship-amenities while sailing through places few conventional cruise ships visit. The ships are purpose-built for safety and performance in extreme environments (PC6 rating), meaning you get adventure without compromising safety or comfort. Then there’s the inclusive, curated experience: excursions, expert-led walks, Zodiac rides, cultural engagements, snorkeling or scuba in suitable regions are often built in.
Finally, the chance to see remote landscapes and wildlife up close — polar bears, glaciers, icebergs, pristine coral reefs, indigenous cultures — all woven together with high-end service, gourmet food, and refinement. If you want adventure and luxury, this hits both.
Design & Creative Manager Adam Arkinstall sailed the British Isles with Seabourn Expeditions and had an absolutely incredible voyage. Seabourn Venture was as luxurious as you'd expect from any Seabourn vessel and the expedition elements were fantastic. Kayaking, photographing puffins and taking Zodiac rides along the Shetland Islands' jagged coastlines was a real taste of adventure, not too far from home.
