Emerald Cruises

Emerald Cruises took to the ocean in 2022 with their incredible new yacht, Emerald Azzurra. This super yacht is custom-designed to allow closer access to the ports and harbours in itineraries, places only small yachts can reach. You’ll sail crystalline waters between stunning island groups, uncover the mysteries of the Holy Land and be immersed in the rich history of both the East and Western Mediterranean. You’ll visit the exciting ports of the Adriatic coastline and wonder at the archaeological feats along the Red Sea.

A brand-new sister ship, Emerald Sakara, is identical in its design and joined the fleet in 2023, sailing the Mediterranean, Adriatic, Red Sea, and Black Sea. Like her sister superyacht, Emerald Sakara boasts balconies on 88% of cabins, and more space per guest than similar vessels of her size. Guests enjoy world-class cuisine in the Reflections Restaurant and Horizon Bar & Lounge. Emerald Sakara also features a large infinity pool, spa, gym, and marina platform, with a variety of marina toys available, such as paddleboards and snorkelling equipment. All guests enjoy all-inclusive pricing which includes all meals, complimentary wines, beers and soft drinks at lunch and dinner, plus a number of included excursions and on board activities.

Gary Says...

“Custom-designed to access captivating ports and anchorages only accessible to super-yachts, Emerald Azzurra is ideal for those with wanderlust who enthuse about exploring the hidden gems of the Adriatic Coast, Mediterranean and Red Sea. Less cruise ship, more private idyll, with 98 friends along for the voyage, this much anticipated addition to the rarefied world of cruising is like a perfectly balanced wine – understated and elegant.”

Excursions, Entertainment and Activities

The beauty of yacht cruising is that the smaller ships are able to get to destinations larger ships can’t reach. This is helped even further by the Zodiac take with the yacht as this can get to even smaller ports. Exploration is at the heart of Emerald Cruises so there is much to help you do this.

Explore at your leisure with the EmeraldPLUS programme. This provides you with exclusive and unique encounters that will give you memories to last a lifetime. These are all included within the price of your cruise meaning you get to really enjoy the places you visit without needing to spend more. Handpicked by Emerald Cruises' expert Journey Designers, you’ll meet people from ancient communities, you’ll take part in insightful activities and you’ll take guided tours on some of the most well-known and prestigious areas in the world. There is a range of options available for your tours and you can choose the ones to suit you best. Some are gentle and informative but if you’re looking for something more energetic and a different perspective on a destination, choose an EmeraldACTIVE excursion instead. Including hikes and guided bike rides, these are for the guests who enjoy pushing themselves a little harder to get a little more out of their voyage.

You will have the option to take an expert-led excursion by Zodiac boat too, to get closer to the destinations on your itinerary. You’ll enjoy mini-expeditions in search of the water’s native inhabitants and return home with fascinating stories to tell.

There will also be plenty of time for you to disembark your yacht and explore the local city and enjoy an evening out

Light entertainment will be offered to guests free of charge onboard, and will include a range of performances. Other activities include access to the gym, pool and wellness centre, and also the range of marina toys available to get closer to the marine life on your trip.

Enrichment Programmes

If you would like a little more out of your cruise, and you want to experience a more independent exploration, Emerald are offering DiscoverMORE optional excursions. These do carry an additional charge but are perfect if you wish to explore more during your time onshore.

These more immersive experiences allow you to get to the heart of the local culture, will afford an understanding of the rich heritage and will take you beyond the boundaries of normal travel encounters. It’s the perfect way to get more out of your luxury yacht cruise.

Sustainability

Emerald Cruises has a clear focus on long-term sustainability for the environment around them and has employed a range of initiatives in order to facilitate that. This is evident in the technology they use onboard all the ships across their fleet (including the river ships). It includes:

  • Reduction of electrical consumption thanks to LED lighting used throughout
  • Efficient power management systems and optimised generators, enabling optimal electricity production
  • The heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) control systems are advanced
  • Heat transfer is reduced and natural light is enhanced thanks to the use of high-glazed glass which therefore reduces energy usage
  • Waste water is treated to remove pollutants before being expelled back into the environment
  • Noise and vibrations are reduced thanks to advanced techniques
