No luxury ocean cruise is complete without dining and drinks to match and with Scenic, they certainly live up to this standard. Scenic believes that dining should be a sensory delight and as such, there are no less than 10 dining options onboard their ships which are all included within the price. Small and intimate, they are:
- Elements – this is the main restaurant and features steaks, seafood and Italian cuisine
- Lumière – a contemporary French restaurant serving fine foods with its own Champagne bar
- Yacht Club – a grill on the poolside, buffet style with a bar too

Koko’s – serving delicious Asian fusion cuisine with a Sake bar, it also has other themes including:
- Teppanyaki @ Koko’s – this private dining room has an open Teppanyaki grill
- Sushi @ Koko’s – a truly authentic Japanese experience for you to enjoy

On board Scenic Eclipse, relaxation is on another level. With 550-square-metres dedicated to indulgence, the exclusive Senses Spa offers the very best services to revitalise you after a long day of exploration. Accessible to all Scenic Eclipse guests, it is a place of absolute tranquillity. It has a Vitality Lounge, treatment room and hair salon to allow you to make those all-important preparations for the evening ahead. Alternatively, simply immerse yourself in tranquillity in the Scandinavian-inspired plunge pool.
The spacious lounges and bars cater to smaller numbers of guests with ease. Spend time in one of the outdoor areas, from the Sun Terrace to the Observation Terrace which looks over the bow, and spa and pool decks. It offers you the perfect viewpoint to see the wildlife and stunning landmarks you’ll sail by.
Wellness areas with indoor and outdoor pools and Jacuzzis are perfect for pampering yourself after a long day. If you wish to be more active, there is also a gym and yoga and Pilates studio so you can stretch out, find your centre or work up a sweat.
If you elect for a Spa Suite, once you return after a day exploring some of the most beautiful destinations in the world, you’ll be able to spend time in your own private Jacuzzi, designed by Philippe Starck. You’ll also enjoy a steam shower with oversized head and light therapy to calm your body and soul. These suites are also highly exclusive and secluded with a prime location on the upper decks to ensure your stay is in absolute luxury. You will also be entitled to a one-hour complimentary spa treatment, as well as a complimentary laundry service (limited per day).
Excursions, entertainment and activities
On a luxury discovery cruise such as this, it is all about the destination. Scenic offer the ability to get up close and personal on a Scenic Eclipse Zodiac excursion. The fleet of extraordinary Zodiacs allow guests to catch a glimpse of uncharted territory and encounter once-in-a-lifetime sights, such as whales breaching in the Arctic Ocean, or penguins waddling across the Antarctic.
Zodiacs can cross shallower waters than your yacht, and can also navigate the obstacles found in icy seas thus taking you closer to the places you want to see. Their open-air design allows for ultra-intimate viewing experiences giving you memories to last a lifetime.
You can continue your experience with a kayak excursion with the Scenic Eclipse Discovery Team. This very intimate activity sets Scenic apart from other luxury cruises as you’ll be able to paddle into the midst of local wildlife such as the birds around Stornoway or the fish swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the Greek Milos Islands. This isn’t your average cruise activity.
Scenic Discovery excursions take guests on exploratory guided tours on board Zodiacs, kayaks and e-bikes and give you an adventure like nothing else. They also include snorkelling in the calm waters of the Caribbean, trekking across the tundra landscapes of the Arctic and sailing above marine life in a kayak.

Scenic Neptune
Scenic Eclipse also has its very own submarine! This is a deep diving experience like no other where you’ll journey to the depths of the ocean. Scenic Neptune is a customised submarine which is capable of diving to 300 metres with six guests onboard. The Discovery Team will join you and educate you as you delve into the ice-cold waters of the remote Arctic world and help you to catch a glimpse of the natural world which sits beneath us.
Airbus Helicopter
Soar the skies in the state-of-the-art Airbus EC-130-T2 helicopters and feel like an intrepid adventurer reaching the places most other travellers never go. The Scenic yacht experience is set to show you the world in ways you have never before experienced and there is no better way to see it in all its glory than from above. Your breath will be truly taken away by the volcanic landscapes in Italy, the coral reefs that span the Caribbean and the Norwegian Fjords which rise majestically out of the waters.
Sustainability
Scenic’s commitment to environmental sustainability is echoed throughout the whole fleet of both river and ocean ships. Pioneering techniques are employed to ensure that impact is minimal. Specifically for Scenic Eclipse, they have included certain comfort and safety features to minimise any negative environmental impact. They include:
- Highly-efficient engines are used which reduce emissions below current global standards and also below ones to be imposed in the future
- Reduction in noise and vibration levels to reduce marine life disturbance via an Azipod propulsion system
- A dynamic positioning system uses GPS to allow the ship to remain in position with using a traditional anchor that would damage the seabed
- The ship 12% more fuel efficient which makes it more environmentally friendly
- Waste water is recycled to high quality to avoid polluting sensitive areas via an Advanced Wastewater Treatment System (AWTS)
- Light pollution is reduced thanks to a specially designed deck overhang
- It is powered by Marine Gas Oil (MGO) – which is the highest grade available and contains the lowest concentration of particulates and sulphur
- The Polar Code pollution prevention measures are fully complied with and the ship is compatible with the reduced emission requirements for sailing in these polar regions
Sailing to AECO and IAATO standards:
Scenic Eclipse will adhere to the guidelines from the AECO (Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators) and IAATO (International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators). These organisations are dedicated to responsible, environmentally friendly and safe tourism in the Arctic and Antarctic regions.
All operations in these sensitive environmental areas will be carried out under these strict environmental protocols.
