Hi I’m Kat and 2021 will be my 8th year working in the cruise industry! Within that time I’ve been lucky enough to travel to 4 continents and sailed on over 7 cruises, and been on board many more ships. I live in a lovely village called Stubbington, and my house is a stone’s throw from the beach – the best part is that it looks over the Isle of Wight Solent, so I see all of the cruise ships departing Southampton on a daily basis!
I live with my husband Ben (who is also in the travel world) and my furry child Reggie the Golden Retriever. I spend my free time with Ben going for walks, watching sport, travelling the world and day trips to London for either music or just roaming Camden Market and Covent Garden.
I love working in travel because of the variety of people I get to interact with, the places and ships I can visit, and mostly because I have serious wanderlust! Every dream holiday I book for customers adds another destination to my list.
I am passionate about customer service and getting out what you put in. I want my customers to be treated in the same way that I would wish to be – nothing is too much to ask!
There are so many places I could choose from, but my first pick would be Thailand. There is a great combination of culture, scenery, adventure, beautiful beaches, and luxury hotels. I have been 3 times, and each time I have added more destinations around Thailand. I have managed to experience one of the biggest national parks, elephant sanctuaries, sleeping on a floating camp site and canoeing alongside families of gibbons!
I would love to experience AmaWaterways' luxury river vessel AmaMagna! She's twice the width of traditional European river ships and therefore offers more personal space and more opportunities for dining and relaxing on board in the luxurious lounges and suites.
Namibia, Botswana and South Africa! A luxury river cruise visiting the Chobe National Park with AMA waterways would be my bucket list choice. Sailing on one of the most luxurious river cruise ships, you are able to get so close to the wildlife and then spend time on a safari. I would then like to carry on down the Garden Route, see (and taste!!) the vineyards and wines and finally end up in Cape Town.
I am a huge F1 fan, and generally sports all around. Luckily for me F1 is held all around the world, so my hobbies and travels are satisfied in one go! You will also find me constantly listening to music, whether it be the radio or a bit of old school Led Zeppelin, you cannot deny that music is food for the soul.
