The Galápagos Islands rise from the Pacific like jewels scattered across the ocean, a living laboratory of evolution and natural wonder.
Accessible only by boat or plane, a Galápagos cruise is a voyage into a place unlike any other on Earth. These volcanic islands are not just scenic—they are alive with wildlife and history. From the legacy of Darwin’s groundbreaking studies to the vibrant interplay of land and sea, every moment here feels like stepping into another world. Unlike the polar regions, the Galápagos offer lush landscapes alongside dramatic lava fields and pristine beaches, all teeming with unique species found nowhere else.
The wildlife of the Galápagos is spectacular and remarkably fearless. Giant tortoises amble across island paths, marine iguanas bask on sun-warmed rocks, and playful sea lions greet visitors at the shore. Brightly colored birds—blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds, and finches—dart above volcanic cliffs. In the crystal-clear waters, snorkelers can swim alongside tropical fish, manta rays, sea turtles, and even gentle sharks. Kayak through hidden coves, hike volcanic peaks, or watch the sun set over endless Pacific waves. Every excursion offers an intimate encounter with life in its most vibrant, untamed form.
Luxury and ultra-luxury Galápagos cruises have redefined exploration, combining the thrill of discovery with exceptional comfort. Once rugged expeditions now feature elegant cabins, gourmet meals, expert naturalist guides, and curated excursions—so you can witness the islands’ wonders in style. Imagine stepping off your yacht onto a remote beach, returning to a fine dining experience, or unwinding with a sunset cocktail while the ocean sparkles around you.
Technically you can take an expedition cruise to the Galápagos islands all year round, however the temperatures and weather conditions vary month to month. We’ve done the research (and sent our team to visit!) and recommend visiting during the warmer, drier months where possible (November to June). The warmer temperatures and calmer seas make for excellent snorkeling, diving and wildlife viewing, as well as sunny skies, active marine life and opportunities to see nesting sea turtles, playful sea lions and vibrant tropical fish.
