About Jeff
I’m Jeff, from Bangor Northern Ireland. I’ve been a keen traveller my whole life with memories of going to New York State with my grandparents when I was as young as 4.
I have two holidays which stand out for me as life changing; one was interrailing around Europe in 1992, visiting a city every day and sleeping on overnight trains. The second was cruising around South America in 2020 when the world went into lockdown and no ports would let us dock; for a while we didn’t know how or when we would get home.
So far I’ve been on more than 40 cruises with a variety of different cruise lines. I'm not particular about which cruise line I travel with, although Azamara has been a favourite for a while!
Each cruise experience had been unique with some real surprises in there as well. I just love being at sea and I feel at home on a ship. Watching sunsets over the sea never fails to impress me and visiting a new city every day is exciting. Shore excursions are something I do occasionally if the itinerary offers something unique and a bit different. My partner and I love wandering around a port, getting lost in old towns and having the opportunity to discover—or rediscover—somewhere we love.
The Chilean Fjords are stunning, as are the Norwegian Fjords, but I do love cruising along the South of France and around the Med.
Definitely Azamara Pursuit—it was refitted in Belfast and I just love the simple luxury on board.
Australia, New Zealand, Antarctica, Alaska, or anywhere that would allow me to see the Northern Lights or an eclipse while at sea. I'd also love to try more river cruises in Europe.
